“A veto can be viewed one of two ways. If you’re vetoing a lot of bills, it shows a lack of working with legislators before the bad stuff gets to your desk. But then, if you’re not vetoing a lot of bills, it can appear there’s no strong leadership in bucking your party,” said John Straayer, a professor of political science at Colorado State University.
