Del Benson, a Colorado State University professor and a member of the state’s panel on wolves, said the wolves probably left the saturated Yellowstone area and wandered into Colorado while they were “just out exploring, trying to find necessities of life.” He said it is not unusual for them to wander hundreds of miles.
