Loveland and Fort Collins continue to outperform the rest of the nation economically, seven years after the start of the Great Recession. Local experts offer a variety of factors that are fostering growth in Northern Colorado. Martin Shields, director of the Regional Economic Institute at Colorado State University, said the cities’ “knowledge economies” are a major contributor to growth.
