“The post-mortem of this was that the Republican get-out-the-vote effort got a lot better between 2010 and 2014,” said Colorado State University political science professor Kyle Saunders. “I think President Obama’s approval rating is a part of the picture, (but) Udall didn’t run a very good campaign.”
