The dinner honoring Matsushima, a 92-year-old retired Colorado State University professor also known as “the genius of the feedlots,” was filled with tributes from those whose respect he has gained: Bob Josserand, chairman of the AzTx Cattle Co.; National Western Stock Show president Paul Andrews; Gov. John Hickenlooper; Denver Mayor Michael Hancock; and former U.S. Sen. Hank Brown, the event’s master of ceremonies.
