Don’t underestimate the value of a big-name resume. Sonny Lubick, who led CSU to great heights in the ’90s, came to CSU from Miami (Fla.) where he was Dennis Erickson’s defensive coordinator on his national championship team. Lubick remembers how coming to CSU wasn’t a step down for him and it won’t be for McElwain.
