Dr. Niswender, a professor at Colorado State University, began his career as a faculty member at the University of Michigan in 1968. Working in the Reproductive Endocrin-ology Program, he developed assays for the major reproductive hormones and rapidly applied those assays to monitor changes in blood levels of hormones in several species, including his favorite research animal, the sheep.
