NIT could prove to be stepping stone for Rams


The NIT, often seen as a consolation tournament for teams not good enough to make it to the main event, has been a stepping stone to bigger and better things for a number of college basketball programs over the years. And Colorado State University, just four years removed from an 0-16 run through the Mountain West Conference and 7-25 record overall in coach Tim Miles’ first season, hopes it will serve the same role for the Rams.
