Recession affects relative importance of carcass weight, yield, quality grade

Outlet:

A Colorado State University study examined the relative importance of carcass weight, quality grade and yield grade as drivers of beef carcass value in two grid-pricing systems. In times of low (less than $5) Choice–Select spreads, the proportion of total revenue per head explained by quality grade and yield grade is roughly equal, but it is less than one-tenth as important as carcass weight.
