“It’s important to realize that most producers don’t want to be a problem, and don’t want to cause environmental issues,” said Nichole Marcillac, a research associate at CSU’s Department of Animal Sciences. “A lot of times they dont know when they’re doing it, and they don’t how big of a problem it is.” Marcillac is part of a cooperative research effort that includes CSU’s Department of Atmospheric Sciences, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Natural Resource Ecology Robert Baun Lab at CSU. She’s scheduled to discuss the project’s progress and goals at 1 p.m., Jan. 25, at the Island Grove Regional Park’s Exhibition Building.
