HemaQuest has raised at least $36 million since it was founded in 2007 by scientists at Boston University, Colorado State University, and the University of Washington, including Susan Perrine, Douglas Faller, Ronald Berenson, Thalia Papayannopoulou and George Stamatoyannopoulos.
