Sen. Salazar congratulates CSU on $3.4 million grant to expand food safety research

United States Senator Ken Salazar recently announced that the Center for Meat Safety and Quality at Colorado State University has been awarded a $3.4 million national grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to support the Center’s research, education and outreach efforts to improve food safety. Specifically, the funding will be used to develop an integrated system that will be used to monitor agricultural water used in vegetable production for the presence of harmful, illness-inducing food-borne pathogens.
