Phil Klotzbach, who last year worked as a research associate with oft-quoted Colorado State professor William Gray, pointed me to the group’s recap of the hurricane season, which shows how its forecasts kept increasing from a Dec. 3, 2004, forecast of six to a prediction of 11 made last Oct. 3 (after Katrina and Rita struck land).
