“The structure did very well — it didn’t collapse,” said John W. van de Lindt, a professor at Colorado State University who is the principal investigator on a four-year national project aimed at improving the safety and economics of wood-frame construction. “If the contents were correctly anchored, you would have survived in that building, no doubt.”
