International Weed Genomics Consortium

Resources for weed research

Who Are We?

We host reference genomes of weed species for research discovery.

The International Weed Genomics Consortium (IWGC) provides a platform for private and public collaboration to develop genomic tools and resources and to stimulate global research in weed biology and management.

Understanding evolutionary processes in weeds, such as resistance, stress tolerance, and gene flow, requires genomic resources and a trained workforce to analyze and implement innovation with this data. The IWGC is addressing these challenges to develop the critical resources for major weeds through Academia and Industry research and training partnerships.

Connect to KeyGene

All of our genomes are hosted by KeyGene using the WeedPedia platform.

Here you can find the full scaffolds of our reference genomes and a suite of bioinformatics tools for comparative genomics, RNA-seq data visualization, mapping and marker analysis. The WeedPedia genome browser has a variety of tools including BLAST, SNP calling, gene search, syntegy visualization, structural variant viewers and more.
