Walt Jones

Walt Jones is a professor and assistant chair of the Department of Music, Theater and Dance. His focus is on acting and directing, and his repertoire includes two directing turns on Broadway, six off-Broadway plays, and more than 60 plays at various regional theaters. Jones has worked with many prominent actors and playwrights, including Christopher Walken, Meryl Streep, Pulitzer Prize-winners Sam Shepard and David Mamet, and Tony Award-winner Jefferson Mays.

Jones graduated from the Yale School of Drama in 1975. He served as a staff director at the O’Neill National Playwrights Conference from 1980 to 1990.
